Services on the Postal Services Market

In the second quarter of 2015, the postal market in the Republic of Croatia has been enriched with a number of innovative services.


ZAGREB, September 2, 2015 - Postal service providers in the Republic of Croatia are increasingly using the comparative advantages of other technologies, especially information and communication technology thus launching new trends on postal services market enabling the development of new and innovative services. A trend of changes is visible in performing business activities by a provider who, applying  advanced possibilities of specific technologies expands a range of services creating some new market opportunities in order to adapt to the end-users’ new habits and needs and eventually increase their revenue.

An example of the above-mentioned services is "epostcard" by Croatian Post Inc. which using the postal applications for smart phones provides a customized postcard design, printing and delivery to the recipient's home address. Croatian Post. Inc. offers a new service " e Post", connecting a series of "regular postal" services provided in the post office in a regular manner , but now virtually as well, therefore their clients can receive and send letters that at given moment can be either in electronic or physical form.

The provider Tisak d.d. has expanded its offer for the service provision with the "Printing Parcel" in a way that the parcels from a newsstand can be sent to any country in the world with home delivery, In addition to it, Tisak d.d. has announced the implementation of service for parcel delivery called “Paketomat.” "

At the same time, Overseas Trade Co.Ltd. announced the service provision of parcel distribution at the "iNovine" newsstands as a response to the service of “Tisak” .Some service providers implemented parcel tracking via the Internet, while others have improved their services of parcel tracking aimed at better communication with customers. The emergence of such services proves that by applying the latest technologies, the postal services have more potential for future growth and development while some providers are constantly trying to create new services and improve the existing ones.
 
In the second quarter of 2015, a trend of further consolidation on the postal services market has been continued resulting in the market share increase of. 4 % by Croatian Post Inc. that is currently owning 76 % market share
