HAKOM at the 39th International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO 2016)

Under the auspices of the 39th International ICT gathering MIPRO, which is taking place in Opatija, HAKOM has organized a round table on the topic of “Financing of the Building of Networks for Broadband Access in Areas Lacking Commercial Interest to Use the European Structural and Investment Funds” and the 3rd Forum on the future of the UHF Band – digital terrestrial television and the second digital dividend”. Furthermore, HAKOM will be represented this year at the Croatian Internet Governance Forum (CRO-IGF).
 
ZAGREB, 30 May 2016 – The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) will organize on Tuesday, 31 May, during the 39th  International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO 2016) in Grand Hotel Adriatic in Opatija, a round table on the topic of Financing of the Building of Networks for Broadband Access in Areas Lacking Commercial Interest to Use the European Structural and Investment Funds”. The round table will clarify procedures necessary for submitting projects for the development of broadband infrastructure and local and regional self-government or receive instructions who to contact and how to ask and receive help and explanations concerning their projects. The current situation concerning the fulfilment of preconditions for the use of EU funds will be presented as well. 
 
Furthermore, HAKOM has organized the 3rd Forum on the future of the UHF Band – digital terrestrial television and the second digital dividend”, that will be used by HAKOM’s experts to clarify strategic direction and key decisions within the framework of the Digital Switchover Strategy to the DVB-T2 and the allocation of the 700 MHz frequency band and it will inform the interested parties about the planned activities and initiate a discussion on the potential of mobile communications networks.
HAKOM will be represented this year as well at the Croatian Internet Governance Forum (CRO-IGF) which will be attended by HAKOM’s representatives, the Director, Mr. Mario Weber representative of the Republic of Croatia in the Future Internet at the European Commission and senior expert for communications services, Velimir Švedek, HAKOM’s representative in the organization board of CRO-IGF.
