HAKOM at the International Conference on Fiber- Optic Distribution Technologies ( FiberWeek 2015).

ZAGREB 29 Apri l, 2015- The International Conference on Fiber-Optic Technologies (FiberWeek 2015)  took place in Supetar on the Island of Brač between 28 to 30 April. During the first day of the workshop which included the presentation entitled „The Broadband Access Development in Croatia,:Regulation, Standardization, Planning/Projecting, Financing, Roll-out, Management and Services, HAKOM reported on the activities whose purpose is to eliminate he obstacles to reduce the investments' costs and to remove the barriers to broadband investment and competition.

The presentation entitled “Regulatory Activities on Removing Barriers to Broadband Access and Infrastructure” was presented by Mr.Vladimir Žuti, a Senior Consultant for infrastructure who closely explained the Directive that lays down the measures to reduce the cost of deploying high-speed electronic communications networks.
The Directive 2014/51/EC“- Measures to reduce the cost of deploying high-speed electronic communications networks“- passed on May 15, 2014) must be implemented into national legislation no later than 01January 2016. Furthermore, Mr Žužul presented the tour plan of the local and regional self-governing units, in order to present their role and obligation in the preparation of investment projects with the possibility of EU funds use.
