HAKOM at the fourth Meeting of BEREC Contact Group
The main objective of the meeting is to prepare the 41st BEREC Plenary Meeting to be held on December 5-6, 2019 in Malta.
ZAGREB, November 15, 2019 – Following the invitation of Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) Den Haag, hosted a fourth BEREC meeting, (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications), The aim of the meeting is to prepare the 41st regular BEREC plenary meeting, to be held on December 5-6, 2019, in Malta, as well as the General Assembly of the Independent Regulators' Group (IRG).
Since this is the this year's last meeting of BEREC Contact Group it referred to BEREC work plan for the next year, as well as the significant numbers of documents, adopted as a this year's BEREC result. However the topic of the meeting was BEREC Annual Work Programme for 2020 as well as the activities and documents planned within the individual BEREC working groups, including the draft Annual Programme 2021. At the same time, a new BEREC strategy to be adopted was discussed with regard to the expiry of the period currently included in the BEREC strategy (2018-2020)
In addition, a range of reports prepared within individual working groups was discussed as follows:
- BEREC Report on harmonized collected data by the authorities as well as Report on OTT services
- BEREC Report on termination rates at the EU level
- BEREC Report on Transparency and Comparability of International Roaming Tariffs.
- BEREC Report Regulatory Accounting
In addition please find the documents which are to be submitted for public consultation
- Report on Best Practice on Member States defining an adequate broadband Internet service
- Report on the impact of 5G on the regulation and the role of regulation in the operation of the 5G ecosystem
- The guidelines on evaluation mechanism of early warning system efficiency and crisis management
The adoption of a Guideline for General Authorization notification for Electronic Communications has been planned for the Plenary Meeting as well as Guideline on Minimum Criteria for Standard Bidding, which were also the subject to Contact Group’s discussion.
