Meeting of the European Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG)

Brussels hosted the meeting in order to discuss the issues of radio frequency spectrum usage and the RSPG work programme for 2020 and 2021, as well as a report on the harmful interference and 700 MHz release activities.

 
ZAGREB, October 14, 2018 – The meeting of the Radio Spectrum Policy Group (RSPG) was held in Brussels on 9 September .The group is acting within the scope of the  European Commission by advising on the strategic issues of spectrum management in the Member States. The meeting discussed the reports presented by the working groups on the application of Art. 35 (peer review) of the European Code of Electronic Communications (EECC), the European Spectrum Management Strategy and the future work programme of the RSPG for the period 2020-2021.The topics indentified for the work  programme are such as follows: the common usage of RF Spectrum, additional RF spectrum for wireless broadband, the impact on climate change, the one-tier assessment process and the continuation of the work of the Working Group on Cross-Border Radio Frequency Coordination.

A report was also presented on the conclusions of working groups on cross-border frequency harmonization the Good Office dealing with harmful interferences (Italian interference with DTV, DAB and FM band) and monitoring the release of the 700MHz band for the introduction of mobile broadband networks and cross-border coordination with countries outside the EU borders.
