Published "Susretnica"

Zagreb, 11.12.20. - The new application ICT-AAC Susretnica has been published, available for Android and iOS operating systems and web browsers. The meeting was designed to raise awareness of the importance of proper access to persons with different types of disability, and it was developed as a result of cooperation between the FER and HAKOM on the project “Accessibility of mobile applications and raising social awareness of the challenges faced by persons with disabilities”.

In order to help a person with disabilities, people often put not only a person with disabilities in an uncomfortable position, but also themselves, after which they feel badly and in future situations give up access to a person with disabilities.

Therefore, the purpose of this application is to present on practical and life examples what is right in this context and to teach us how to treat and approach people with disabilities. The application is developed in cooperation with associations whose members are persons with different types of disabilities, and the application itself covers different everyday situations (e.g. waiting at the station, entering the elevator, crossing the intersection, parking lot, etc.) where there is often a need to initiate communication. Very often the people who want to help start the action immediately, without even asking people with disabilities if they need help or if they want any help, which is the first and basic thing the users of this application want to do.
