According to the collected data, in the first nine months, the total investments in mobile networks increased by about 40 % compared to the same period last year, while the number of own FTTX connections by operators increased by 30 %.

ZAGREB, December 12, 2019 - In the third quarter of 2019 the investment in the mobile communications market continued to grow and  total investments in mobile  in the first nine months recorded an increase of 40 % compared to the same period last year which is result caused  by the allocation of additional radio frequency spectrum. Although investments in fixed broadband infrastructure are not as similar as last year, they are looking forward to a significant increase in fibre optic investment, which has resulted in a 30 % increase in the number of FTTX connections compared to the previous year.

Total revenues from the whole market from all fixed and mobile services increased 0.3 % compared to the same period of 2018. At the same time, total revenues from mobile phone services were in a slight decline due to lower roaming revenues by domestic users in the international networks as well as the roaming of foreigners in the national networks. Total roaming traffic is larger, but revenue is lower due to a fall in roaming prices in the national and international networks.

Market of  TV broadcasting with paying fees  records the growth , with 56 % of households using this service. IPTV is still the leading technology with a market share of about 52 % of the total number of TV users charged for fees and the development potential of this part of the market is still significant.
