HAKOM and AEM Held a Meeting on “Digital Radio of the City of Zagreb

On this occasion HAKOM's experts presented the concept of digital radio technology, the principle of providing the programme content through DAB + platform according to the principle of MUX entry, the examples of MUX capacity and audio coding system as well as the possibility of introducing the additional multimedia contents based on DAB + standard.
 

ZAGREB, October 26, 2015 - The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) and the Agency for Electronic Media (AEM) organized the initial meeting on “Digital Radio of the City of Zagreb”. In addition to the representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) the Croatian Association of Radio Stations and Newspapers (HURIN), Transmitters and Communications (OiV), Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing and the Croatian Radio and Television the fifteen radio broadcasters and representatives of radio market took part in the meeting as well. On behalf of the organizers Mr. Dražen Lučić, President of the Council of HAKOM and Damir Hajduk, Member of the Council of AEM greeted the audience.
 
On this occasion HAKOM's experts presented the concept of digital radio technology, the principle of providing the programme content through DAB + platform according to the principle of MUX entry, the examples of MUX capacity and audio coding system as well as the possibility of introducing the additional multimedia contents based on DAB + standard. The new technical solutions have been proposed for the provision of digital radio broadcasting services in Zagreb. The OIV representatives responded to the inquiries related to the transmission costs as well as the transmission of programme content to the transmission network. The Members of the AEM Council provided information to the publisher representatives regarding the regulatory framework of the MUX entry, as well as the possibility of introducing new and specialized programme content. There was a great interest in new technologies at the meeting. In order to encourage additional interest in the provision of digital radio broadcasting services the participants exchanged their opinions and provided guidance referring to that issue.
