At this year’s ELMAR, during the first day of the conference the experts from the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) presented their works.
ZAGREB, 13 September 2016 - The 58th International Symposium ELMAR-2016 is taking place in Zadar from 12 to 14 September where the scientific and professional papers in the field of electronics, multimedia and electronic communications will be presented.
At this year’s ELMAR, during the first day of the Conference the experts from the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) presented their works. Krešimir Šakić presented his work entitled “Video Coding Choice for Future DVB-T2 Networks in Croatia” where he talked about the benefits of the use of H.265 / HEVC coding system in the future DVB-T2 network in Croatia as well as about the activities related to the transition of digital terrestrial television system to DVB-T2. Ms. Ana Katalinić Mucalo presented her entitled ” Impacts and Benefits of Transition to DVB-T2 Standard and Assignment of Second Digital Dividend” where she talked about the social and economic aspects of the entire process of transition to digital terrestrial television DVB-T2 system and expected profit of liberation and allocation of the frequency band of 700 MHz (second digital dividend) for mobile networks. Both works present the activities related to the development of the Transition Strategy to digital terrestrial television to DVB-T2 system and allocation of the frequency band of 700 MHz. Moreover, HAKOM's experts will hold the section related to the Image Processing 3 which will be held within the scope of the Conference on Wednesday.
