Annual rail services market monitoring report published
Zagreb, 17 April 2023 The IRG-Rail (Independent Regulators’ Group — Rail) group of independent rail regulators from 31 European countries, including HAKOM, has published its 11th annual report on the rail market review. The report covers the year 2021 and includes data collected from all IRG-Rail member countries.
This report consists of two documents, namely the ‘Main Report’, representing the overall results at European level and the ‘Working Document’, which provides country-specific details and cross-country comparisons. The main report provides an annual overview of market developments and economic conditions in the rail sector and a comparison of the development and competitiveness of the rail market over time. Each market monitoring report focuses on one or more topics, and this report focuses on the impact of the pandemic on the European rail market and compared to the year before COVID-19 and on the recovery of the European market in 2021.
