Conformity Assessment

Conformity assessment of products is any action related to the direct or indirect determination of whether the relevant essential requirements set out in the technical regulations concerning a specific product have been met. Accordingly, the conformity assessment of radio equipment refers to the procedures for conformity assessment prescribed by the Ordinance on Radio Equipment, which determine whether the radio equipment meets the essential requirements from Article 5 of the Ordinance on Radio Equipment.

Ordinance on Radio Equipment defines various conformity assessment procedures that manufacturers must follow in Appendices 1, 2, and 3:
  • Internal Production Control (Appendix 1)
  • EU Type Examination and Conformity with Type Based on Internal Production Control (Appendix 2)
  • Full Quality Assurance (Appendix 3)
The selection of the procedure depends on whether harmonised standards have been applied and the manufacturer’s preference. During the conformity assessment process, all working conditions and possible configurations are considered. Additionally, in assessing essential requirements for the protection of health and safety for individuals, animals, and property, foreseeable circumstances are also taken into account.
