RF Spectrum Monitoring
Monitoring of radio frequency spectrum
Nowadays, when the need for services based on the use of radio frequency spectrum is constantly growing, radio frequency spectrum monitoring is becoming one of the most important aspects of radio frequency spectrum management. Monitoring not only serves to prevent unauthorised use of the spectrum and protect licensed users, but it is also a vital process that provides HAKOM experts, who handle the planning and harmonization of radio frequencies, with essential measurement data.
Therefore, HAKOM carries out daily monitoring of the radio frequency spectrum. These operations are conducted through an accapted measurement system, which consists of four control and measurement centers located in Zagreb, Split, Osijek, and Rijeka, 12 remotely operated control and measurement stations, and five measurement vehicles. Each component of the system is equipped with sophisticated measurement instruments capable of detecting even very low-level signals and determining the direction from which they originate. By measuring from multiple points, the triangulation of the signal is enabled, allowing for easy location of the source of electromagnetic radiation.
Inspection Monitoring
HAKOM conducts inspection monitoring to ensure compliance with the Electronic Communications Act and the regulations enacted under it, the Postal Services Act, and the Railway Services Market Regulation Act.
