Measurements
In accordance with its annual work programme, HAKOM conducts extensive measuring of radiofrequency spectrum with the aim of its protection and control, as well as protecting people from electromagnetic radiation.
The fundamental limitations and reference levels of electromagnetic field levels are prescribed by Ordinance on protection of electromagnetic fields, under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Health.
The aforementioned Croatian regulation related to the protection of the population is based on the European Union Council Recommendation 1999/519/EC on the limitation of exposure to electromagnetic fields (0 Hz-300 GHz) - (Council Recommendation (1999/519/EC) of 12 July 1999 on the limitation of the exposure of the general public to electromagnetic fields (0 Hz- 300 GHz). Data on the implementation of this recommendation can be found in the Report on the Implementation of Council Recommendation 1999/519/EC (last amended in 2008).
