ZAGREB, 9 September 2016 – A meeting of the Working Group on Postal Service held in Brussels focused on the Proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on cross-border parcel delivery services. The European Commission published the Proposal for the Regulation in June 2016 and submitted it to ordinary legislative procedure. The Proposal for the Regulation is adopted as one of the measures within the Digital Single Market strategy that will help users of services and companies from the EU to benefit from all the advantages of the EU single market by allowing them to buy and sell goods and services over the Internet more easily and with greater confidence. This includes better transparency of prices, the removal of cross-border obstacles and administrative restrictions, the improvement of regulatory supervision of cross-border traffic and measures for the removal of potentially unfair commercial practices in the digital environment.

The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) was represented at the meeting by Ms. Ana Šubat Perković.
