HAKOM at the meeting of the BEREC working group on the revision of the EU regulatory framework

The working group is drafting a final version of replies to a comprehensive questionnaire prepared by the European Commission in order to get an insight into the application of the existing regulatory framework and to discuss key issues that need to be resolved by the new regulatory framework.
 
ZAGREB, 5 November 2015 –BEREC (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications) organized in Brussels meeting of a working group dealing with the revision of the EU regulatory framework on electronic communications. The working group is drafting a final version of replies to a comprehensive questionnaire prepared by the European Commission in order to get an insight into the application of the existing regulatory framework and to discuss key issues that need to be resolved by the new regulatory framework.

On the basis of BEREC’s replies and on the basis of results of the public consultation that is in progress, the European Commission will prepare a legislative proposal for the reform of EU telecommunications rules. It is expected that the proposal will be finished in 2016 and then discussed by the Council of the EU and the European Parliament. The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) is represented at the meeting by Domagoj Maričić, Head of the Legal Department.
