HAKOM at the Meeting of the Radio Frequency Spectrum Committee (RSC)

The Radio Frequency Spectrum Committee, among other things, helps the European Commission in the development of implementing decisions related to frequency spectrum management in the EU Member States.

  
ZAGREB, October 7, 2016 The Radio Spectrum Committee – RSC of the European Commission (EC) held the meeting in Brussels from 5 to 6 October. The working group, responsible for managing the radio frequency spectrum, helps the European Commission in the development of implementing decisions related to frequency spectrum management in the EU Member States.
 
The main topics discussed at the 57th  RSC meeting  was the preparation  of harmonized technical conditions for the usage  of the 5th generation of mobile communications networks, the application of the EU regulations in the field of Radio Frequency Spectrum Management, the decision on the usage  of mobile communications networks on ships and aircraft, the extended decision on the application of short-range devices, the usage of 2.3-2.4 GHz frequency band for mobile communications and application of shared access. In addition the meeting’s discussion   was on the frequency bands to be used for the first 5G where the preparation of the 700 MHz band should be pointed out as well as 3.4 -3.6 GHz and 24 GHz bands and the technical conditions of use. The final proposals of the EU decision on the use of mobile communications on board aircraft during the flight have been completed, as well as the decision on the use of mobile communications on board vessels based on the technical studies made by CEPT.
 
Mr. Željko Tabaković, Assistant Director at HAKOM participated at the meeting of the Radio Frequency Spectrum Committee as a representative of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM).
