HAKOM at the Polish-Croatian Economic Forum

ZAGREB, January 28, 2016–In Warsaw on Thursday,within the scope of  visit of the Croatian President Kolinda Grabar – Kitarović to Poland,the Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE) organizedthe Polish-Croatian Economic Forumattended by more than 60 businessmen from 48 Croatian companies. Mr.Dražen Lučić, President of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for NetworkIndustries (HAKOM) was one of the members of the Croatian delegation. Before that HAKOM established an excellent cooperation with the Office of Communications (UrzędKomunikacjiElectronicznej - UKE), the Polish regulatory authority responsible for the regulation of the electronic communications and postal services, which resulted in the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (MoU) in October last year. HAKOM establishedmultilateral and bilateral cooperation, except with Poland,with other regulators from Central and Southeast Europe as well.
 
The Polish-Croatian Economic Forum was a good opportunity for businessmen to strengthen their businessposition in a huge Polish market and it is apparent that a growing economic exchange between these two countries has increasedin recent years. In Warsaw, the Croatian President KolindaGrabar - Kitarović met with the Polish counterpart Andrzej Dudaafter which the leaders of these two countries participated in the Polish-Croatian Economic Forum which among others gathered the ambassadors and consuls from Poland and Croatia, presidents of Chambers of commerce and businessmen.

The main topic of political discussion as announced by the Office of the President referred to the Adriatic-Baltic-Black Sea initiative, upheldby the Croatian President Grabar-Kitarovićfrom the beginning of her mandate as a new way of cooperation between the Central European countries to the north-south axis. This topic is of great interest for HAKOM, especially in the area of rail or intermodal transportation. Within the scope ofher official visit to the Polish Institute of International Affairs,a lecture on "The role of Croatia in consolidating resistance of Central Europe in the troubled world was held on Friday.
