HAKOM's experts at a workshop organized by BEREC

The main topic of the workshop is the influence of software-defined networks and network functions virtualization on the regulation of the electronic communications market.
 
ZAGREB, 25 January 2016 – A workshop on the topic of influence of software-defined networks and network functions virtualization on the regulation of the electronic communications market (˝Regulatory Implications of Software - Defined Networking and Network Functions Virtualization˝) has been organized in Brussels by the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) as part of the working group on Next Generation Networks (NGN). Representatives of regulatory authorities and other interested stakeholders on the electronic communications market will learn about software-defined networks and network functions virtualization. The above-mentioned technologies represent solutions that are interesting to all operators of electronic communications networks and will be applied all over the world, including in Europe. The workshop is aimed at introducing the above-mentioned technologies to the participants and to familiarize them with the impact they might have on regulation on of the electronic communications services market so that they could prepare in advance for their introduction.
 
Participants of the above-mentioned meeting are representatives of Member States' regulatory authorities, equipment providers and other interested subjects. Experts from the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM), Mladen Sikirica and Tomislav Lovrić, have also participated in this workshop.
