HAKOM's Experts at the ITU Regional Conference for Europe

At the conference in Warsaw HAKOM's experts presented HAKOM’s Interactive GIS portal as an example of the national initiative of mapping the availability and the broadband services use.
ZAGREB, April 11 2016 - A two-day ITU - EC Regional Conference for Europe on the topic "Broadband Services and Infrastructure Mapping", organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the European Commission in cooperation with the Office of Electronic Communications of the Republic of Poland (Urząd Komunikacji Electronicznej - UKE).
The conference which was organized within the framework of the Regional Initiative for Europe on Broadband, approved by the Conference on the development of global telecommunications 2014 (WTDC-14), provides an opportunity for high-level dialogue between the Institute for the Development of Telecommunications ITU, the European Commission, the ITU Member States and sector members with a special emphasis on national, regional and international initiatives of mapping broadband services and infrastructure. During the opening ceremony, the keynote speaker Mr. Mario Weber, Executive Director of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) stressed out the achievements of the Republic of Croatia and HAKOM in the area of mapping and the broadband services development.
At the conference, HAKOM's experts Mladen Sikirica and Vesna Gašpar held a presentation on "Broadband mapping - Croatian experience" presenting the interactive HAKOM’s GIS portal as an example of a national mapping initiative of the availability and use of broadband services.
