HAKOM was once again noticeable at the Conference on electronic communications technologies and standards in informatics KOM 2015 which took place in Zagreb on November 23 and 24. 

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed November 21 as the World Television Day with the aim of supporting the world televisions to dedicate their programmes to the issues such as peace and security. Young audiences are focus of this year’s celebration. 

The objective of the meeting is the preparation for the 25th BEREC regular plenary session which will be held on 9 and 10 December 2015 in London. 

The International Conference on the Future Digital Economy was held in Montpellier. Domagoj Jurjević was a speaker at the conference in a panel discussion on “Digital Revolution” - OTT rules as BEREC’s representative. 

The Programme of the 17^th CARNet Users Conference CUC 2015 is divided into five thematic sections and within the thematic section entitled” Loss of privacy in the digital age? ˝, the experts from HAKOM and FER will present the application “Privacy Calculator “ 

HAKOM received a notification from an operator regarding fraud attempts on the market.  The users conclude contracts in their own name, and then they give their SIM card to another person for a certain charge. Such numbers are further used for making the international calls causing high and unwanted costs to the real contractor.

During a two-day workshop new AKOS's application Akos Test Net will be presented while the Croatian experience is imprtant because the certified tool HAKOMetar has been in use since 2012 enabling the users to measure the speed of the Internet access in Croatia

HAKOM allocated the remaining radio frequency spectrum in the frequency range of mobile telecommunications networks to Vipnet. This year the state budget revenues will be increased for over HRK 140 million. 

The Workshops are being held in Split on "Providing support to the local and regional self- governing units in project initiation and implementation in order to increase the accessibility of broadband infrastructure with the help of state aid. 

HAKOM’s representatives attended the annual plenary meeting of the IRG-Rail, a network of the European railway authorities which was held in Rotterdam  

The objective of the meeting was the adjustment of TR 25/08 Recommendation to the new broadband technologies such as LTE, which could function in that frequency band in the near future as well. 

HAKOM’s Representatives are participating at the CA Annual Plenary Session of UPU taking place on November 12 and 13 in Bern.
 

Workshops on " Providing Support to the Local and Regional Self- governing units in Project Initiation and Implementation in order to Increase the Accessibility of Broadband Infrastructure  with the help of state aid “ were held in Rijeka and Pula and HAKOM’s experts will hold a workshop in Rijeka on Wednesday.
 

The meeting by BEREC’s Expert Working Group, responsible for the prevention of cross-border fraud and abuse while providing public communications services was held. The objective of the meeting was to exchange experiences and to establish cooperation between the EU Member States. 

The Workshop on "Advising Consumers" was held in cooperation with the Consumer Centre, Croatian Association for Consumer Protection where the participants were informed about operators’ and consumers’ rights in the field of electronic communications services by the experts from HAKOM. 

During these elections less customer complaints were received regarding the unsolicited text messages aimed at the promotion of election campaign compared to the situation during the elections in the past. According to their jurisdiction, the electronic communication inspectors took some measures prescribed by law. After the complaint had been received the operators were requested to block senders of unsolicited incoming messages 

At the multilateral meeting of central European regulatory bodies, the representatives of the Croatian regulator HAKOM signed a cooperation agreement with the Czech regulatory authority (CTU). 

Since the beginning of the economic crisis HAKOM has continuously been reducing the fees for its business operations and over the past few years the fees for frequency spectrum management have been reduced by almost 60 percent, and some fees for other business operations, such as the market regulation and the users’ protection have been fully eliminated or reduced by almost 40 percent. 

The licences enable the work of broadband wireless network, in other words, the network which can provide the Internet access and the transmission of voice even in the areas where there is no appropriate cable infrastructure. 

VIPnet d.o.o. submitted its bid in the public auction procedure for the two remaining frequency blocks in the frequency band for mobile communications networks.
