Publication of “Market Regulators Quo Vaditis?“, a book written by Nikola Popović, Member of the Council of HAKOM
 
On the basis of a decision adopted by the Senate of the University of Zagreb, a book written by Mr. Nikola Popović, PhD, has become a part of university reading lists. In his book the author deals with future of regulation and protection of competition in network industries.
 
ZAGREB, 27 July 2015 – The publishing house of the Faculty of Law in Zagreb (Manualia Universitatis Studiorum Zagrabiensis) published a book entitled “Market Regulators Quo Vaditis?“ by Nikola Popović, a member of the Council of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM). On the basis of a decision adopted by the Senate of the University of Zagreb, a book written by Mr. Nikola Popović, PhD, has become a part of university reading lists. In his book the author deals with future of regulation and protection of competition in network industries which is why the book represents a significant contribution to this topic which has not been sufficiently covered in expert literature.
 
Nikola Popović was born in Zagreb in 1971 where he graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1995 on the “Principle of Separation and Unity of Powers”. He obtained his LLM in European Union law at the College of Europe, Bruges, Belgium on the topic of “Liberalization of the Telecommunications Sector in the Republic of Croatia in the Context of the European Union Telecommunications Market”. He received his PhD from the Faculty of Law in Zagreb in 2012 on the topic of “Liberalisation of Network Industries in the Republic of Croatia”. He also passed his bar exam. He is a visiting lecturer at a number of university courses and has published numerous papers. His areas of interest include competition policy, liberalisation processes and the role of government in economic development.
