The European Commission has adopted the Multiannual Work Programme for the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF)
Zagreb, 10 October 2024 - The European Commission adopted the Multiannual Work Programme for the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) on 9 October 2024, covering the period from 2024 to 2027.
For Croatia, CEF Digital presents a significant opportunity to accelerate broadband infrastructure development, particularly in rural areas where such infrastructure is less developed.
Funding from the programme will facilitate the modernisation of networks and improve connectivity, enabling faster data transmission speeds and enhanced access to digital services.
This programme is crucial for achieving the goals of the Digital Decade 2030 in Croatia, including achieving 100% gigabit connectivity for households and businesses, as well as ensuring full 5G coverage in urban areas. The funding opportunities from this programme will also support projects related to connecting European data centres and digital innovation hubs, further enhancing the digital transformation of the Croatian economy.
In addition to digital infrastructure, CEF Digital supports innovative projects in the transport and energy sectors, aimed at ensuring secure and modern infrastructure, supporting smart transport solutions, and promoting green transformation and efficient resource use.
