Within the framework OF MIPRO, in Opatija, on May 23, III Forum will be held on the future of the UHF band (second digital dividend and digital terrestrial television) as well as the round table discussion on" Financing the construction of broadband networks where there is no commercial interest in using the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESI). 

This is the most important preparatory meeting for the World’s Postal Congress of the European countries beginning in September in Istanbul, Turkey. 

The  members of the Monitoring Committee took part in the meeting  which  was consisted of the representatives of the government bodies, partner institutions, civil society, social and economic partners, local and regional government, the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission and financial institutions relevant for the implementation of the Operational Programme. 

HAKOM once again sponsored one of this year’s rewards for the most successful students awarded on the occasion of the 38^th Anniversary of FERIT.     

The objective of the meeting is the definition of the manner of implementation of the new regulatory framework on the elimination of roaming charges which is envisaged to enter into force on 15 June of next year. 

The Regional RFID Conference entitled “Back to the Future 3” took place in Zagreb. It was aimed at familiarizing the participants with the new technology, its scope, challenges and benefits.  

This is a traditional annual lawyer’s meeting aimed at improving professional expertize of corporate lawyers where members and non-members of the association are provided assistance and knowledge necessary for the creation and application of corporate law.  

The World Telecommunication and Information Society Day is at the same time the anniversary of the establishment of ITU, which was founded in Paris on 17 May 1865 when first International Telegraph Convention was signed and it first operated as the International Telegraph Union.  

The topics of the meeting included the existing and future cooperation between ITU and HAKOM, and ITU Director took this opportunity to thank HAKOM, as a representative of the Republic of Croatia, for its support provided to ITU, in particular in relation to the organization of regulatory gatherings at the international level.  

The objective of the meeting is the preparation for the 27th BEREC regular plenary meeting to be held in Vienna from 1 to 3 June 2016. 

The meeting gathers nearly a thousand representatives of the regulatory authorities, international institutions and associations, government institutions, academia and economy as well as the representatives from all continents and Mr. Dražen Lučić, President of the Council of HAKOM was moderator of the panel discussion on the topic “Be Empowered” What ICTs can do for you!" 

A two-day workshop entitled “The control of radio frequency spectrum” is held in Skopje and the most important topics are related to the assessment of the quality parameters of mobile communications networks, the measuring of (EMF) and DVB-T ionizing radiation. 

Pre-Conference day of the Global Symposium of Regulators (GSR16) is dedicated to the Global Dialogue on Digital Financial Inclusion. Mr. Dražen Lučić, President of the Council of HAKOM is moderator of the panel discussion on the topic “Shaping Collaborative Approaches to Promote Digital Financial Services”. 

The meeting of the representatives of regulatory authorities responsible for the regulation of the electronic communications market of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia was held within the framework of SEDDIF in Zagreb. 

In the EMERG- work, besides the representatives from 20 Mediterranean countries, the representatives from Austria, Germany and Switzerland participated as well and HAKOM was represented by Dražen Lučić, President of the Council of HAKOM. 

The project team is responsible for the preparation of the regulatory framework and organization of the usage of the radio frequency spectrum intended for satellite service within the scope of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), under the jurisdiction of the Working Group Frequency Management (WGFM). 

The workshop on Quality of Service and Quality of Experience of Multimedia Applications and Services was held in the Netherlands. The aim of the workshop was to align the methods for assessing the Quality of Service and Quality of Experience by discussing and exchanging the information related to the assessment of technical parameters for the service quality evaluation. 

HAKOM is warning users of postal services that they must be prepared for additional charges related to international delivery of postal items, in particular in relation to small parcels in e-commerce, even though the websites where the order is placed advertise free delivery. Delivery of small parcels is charged according to the price list for international postal services.    

By the amendments to the Ordinance the minimum speed of the Internet access has been increased from 50 percent to 70 percent of the maximum contractual rate and the sale area has been regulated by distance communication even outside the operators’ business premises. In cases of reported and identified fault repair time longer than 24 hours, the operators will have to offer the impairment account to the user or another form of compensation, without the filing the complaint for the bill amount.
