DVB-T2 standard to be used in Croatia for digital television, and HEVC standard expected to be used for coding

The switch-over to DVB-T2 standard is expected after the expiry of the existing licences for digital terrestrial television multiplexes, and at the earliest in 2019. In addition to improving the quality of TV services, this will contribute to the freeing of the RF spectrum of the second digital dividend for services in mobile communications networks. In the period between 2019 and 2021 citizens should adjust their receiving equipment to the new standard. Therefore, clear marking of receiving equipment is envisaged to start in early 2017.

Termination of provision of services by the operator K3

Since end users of operator K3 can no longer receive their service as a result of the ban on the use of radio frequencies, and since the operator is responsible for failing to provide the service, all users of operator K3, regardless of whether they have a contractual obligation or not, will be allowed to terminate their contracts with the operator K3 without paying the penalty fee and select another operator.

DESI 2016 for the Republic of Croatia attained a score of 0,42 and thus places Croatia on the 24th place among the 28 EU Member States just like in 2015, when DESI for Croatia amounted 0,38.
