HAKOM invites the end users to pay attention when purchasing products and services via online ads
ZAGREB, 25 August 2021 - The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) invites the end users to pay attention when purchasing products and services via online advertisements. In fact, recently the ads have occurred offering fast loans through mobile communications operators in a short period of time. These are cases where the user actually purchases the device with a repayment plan and concludes a contract for an expensive mobile tariff to buy an expensive mobile phone and to conclude contracts with a mandatory duration of 24 months with the operators, whereby the user actually buys the device with a repayment plan and enters into an expensive mobile tariff contract, which he has to pay in the next 24 months, while he actually gives a new device to the third party for a relatively low price, in relation to the actual cost price of the device. HAKOM informed the editorial board of an online advertisement in which such advertisements were published about these activities.
