HD Programme Broadcasting in DVB-T2 HEVC has started all over the Republic of Croatia

All television programmes will be simultaneously transmitted in both: the existing and new system.
 
ZAGREB, November 12, 2019 - Transmission of HD programmes in the new DVB-T2 system in the M2 multiplex with HEVC video encoding standard has started today all over the Republic of Croatia, and all television programmes will be completed by 2020 and transmitted  in the existing and new system. Accordingly, citizens have plenty of time to adapt to the new TV signalling system which was announced by Veze I Odašiljači  d.o.o., Tuesday, November, 12.The citizens have been  informed by  OIV  that, according to HAKOM’s decision as of October 18, the date of the full transition to the new system was postponed  to period from  May 25 to July 1, 2020. OIV will additionally release a public notice on detailed transition plan to the digital regions, i.e. the DVB-T system switch off plan. According to the announcement the citizens, unless they already have it, will need to obtain a receiver that can receive a DVB-T2 / HEVC signal. You can buy a new freestanding terrestrial receiver (called the Set Top Box) and connect it to an existing TV or buy a new TV with built-in DVB-T2 dials and a HEVC video decoder. Such receivers have been on sale for several years now and are increasingly represented in the market.
