Marking World Consumer Rights Day
ZAGREB, March 15, 2024 - World Consumer Rights Day has been traditionally celebrated worldwide on March 15, since 1983. As the national regulatory body responsible for electronic communications markets as well as postal and railway services, HAKOM participates every year in marking this important day to inform users about their rights and procedures for their protection.
This Friday, in Zagreb, a conference titled "Consumers in the Age of Artificial Intelligence" was held, organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the Croatian Chamber of Economy. Andro Marčev, the Head of the Consumer Protection Department at HAKOM, participated in the panel discussion.. The aim of the discussion was to inform attendees about the advantages and pitfalls for consumers in today's era, where artificial intelligence is increasingly prevalent. In addition to Andro Marčev from HAKOM, other participants in the panel discussion on this topic included Ronald Vizler from the Ministry of Interior Affairs, Ivan Hećimović from Zagrebačka Banka d.d., Dijana Krčmar from the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Jozo Džakula from the company KONZUM plus d.o.o., Ivona Bačelić Grgić from the Croatian Chamber of Economy, and Tanja Popović Filipović from "CEIP", the Center for Education and Information of Consumers.
