New brochure on child protection in the world of the Internet

The redesigned brochure contains practical and useful advice on the risks and safety on the Internet

ZAGREB, January 26, 2022 - A new redesigned HAKOMs brochure titled “How to protect yourself in the world of the Internet and mobile devices” will find itself in classrooms this year and will be distributed to children, youth and their parents throughout Croatia. The brochure contains practical and useful advice on the risks and safety on the internet, protection of privacy and personal data, the manner of conduct and responsible use of social networks, HAKOM's programme for informing children and parents, which has been implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Education since 2016.
 
HAKOM will publicly present the brochure as in previous years during “Safer Internet Days “on Tuesday (February 8) within the conference “Better Internet Search” organized by CARNET and the association “Collaborators in Learning”.
 
Within the project for the protection of children on the Internet and in the world of network technologies, HAKOM experts are continuously carrying out a programme for education of parents of fifth grade primary school pupils with the aim of providing parents with the necessary information on responsible behaviour when using network technologies, at a time when children start to use them independently without constant supervision of adults. Given the new circumstances caused by the pandemic, a new type of education is being conceived, all with the aim of protecting the most vulnerable users of electronic communications services.
