Private broadband networks
The development of 5G technology enabled the use of radio frequency spectrum for private broadband networks, i.e. for networks with local use of radio frequency spectrum on a limited geographical area, which includes use in industrial plants, business zones, university and research campuses, exhibition/fair zones and agricultural and forest areas.
In the Republic of Croatia, the radio frequency band 2575-2615 MHz can currently be used for private broadband networks, with the detailed conditions of use prescribed in the Frequency Allocation Plan for the frequency band 2500 - 2690 MHz. Given that it is an application on a limited area for specific own needs, the procedure for assigning radio frequency spectrum is simpler than procedures for networks with commercial application, but with the retention of certain checks.
In order to obtain an appropriate license for the use of the radio frequency spectrum, it is first necessary to submit to HAKOM the description, purpose, frequency range, required bandwidth, geographical area with the indicated area in km² and the basic technical features of the planned radio network, followed by the submission of the request (according to article 21 of The Ordinance on the conditions of the assignment and use of radio frequency spectrum).
Fees related to private broadband networks include:
