The first meeting of the ERGP contact group was held in Warsaw

In the run-up to the 24th regular plenary session, the draft ERGP 2024 work programme was discussed among others.

Zagreb, 22 May 2023 — Following the invitation of the organizer the Communications Office (Urzęd Komunikacji Elektronicznej — UKE), the Polish regulatory authority responsible for regulating the electronic communications and mail market, the first meeting of this year’s Contact Group (CN) of the ERGP (The European Regulators Group for Postal Services) was held in Warsaw last week. The meeting discussed the ERGP draft work programme for 2024 and the initial reports of the ERGP working groups with a view to drafting documents that should support the European Commission in decisions on the development of new guidelines in the regulation of the common European postal market. After discussion and agreement, was forwarded by the Contact Group to the ERGP and the document will be discussed at the 24th regular plenary session, when it will be put for public debate. 

The meeting of the Contact Group was also an opportunity to exchange experiences between representatives of the European Commission and the postal regulators of the ERGP Member States, focusing on changes in the postal markets, potential changes to the existing regulatory framework, and the challenges of further harmonisation in the field of postal services in the coming period.
