 NEWS

The transition to the new transmission DVB-T2/HEVC system will start on 27 October and will run until 12 November 2020 and it will take place in digital regions.

ZAGREB, July 10, 2020 – In March, after the transition to a new television broadcasting system was postponed by HAKOM in March, due to measures to combat the coronavirus epidemic, Odašiljači I Veze d.o.o. (OiV) announced on Friday (July the 10th) that the transition to a new TWO-B-T2/HEVC BROADCASTING system starts at the end of October 2020.

All residents of the Republic of Croatia will be able to continue to monitor television programs through existing equipment that they currently use until at least a new transition date. The transition will start on 27 October 2020 and will last until 12 November 2020 and will be carried out across digital regions. The roll-over schedule for digital regions, as well as all other information, can be read on the following link.

We remind you that there is a transition in the Republic of Croatia from a DVB-T system with the MPEG-2 coding standard to a more advanced DVB-T2 transmission system, with a more advanced coding standard H.265/HEVC. Viewers of terrestrial television can monitor existing television programs at both standards until their final transition, depending on the receivers they use (DVB-T or DVB-T2).
