The upgraded HAKOMetar Simplified Internet Speed Measurement Procedure

 For measurements of data traffic speed in fixed electronic communications networks HAKOM put into operation a new application

Zagreb, 20 September 2023 HAKOM’s certified broadband internet speed measuring tool HAKOMetar, which has been in operation since 2012, has been significantly upgraded and its functionality has been improved. Measurements made using this tool can be used for informative purposes through the initiation of an individual measurement or as a certified measurement by launching a measurement campaign to determine whether broadband internet access speed is in accordance with the agreed and as evidence in the event of a user dispute. It is an official and certified tool that allows the user to independently test the quality of service from his own personal computer. In the case of certified measurement, the user must perform a minimum of three measurements within a period of five days and, if all measurements are below the agreed minimum speed, he can object to the quality of internet access service. A prerequisite for the measurement is that the computer from which the test is carried out is directly connected to the operator’s modem by wire connection and that all other devices that the user has in the local network are switched off.

When using the new, modified and upgraded version of the application, which allows users to measure the speed of data traffic in fixed electronic communications networks, it is no longer necessary to install the Java application, which has recently affected the proper functioning of the application due to numerous changes. HAKOMetar supports all popular computer operating systems, including Windows, Linux and Mac OS platforms.
