The World Radiocommunication Conference WRC 19

Egypt hosted the most significant Radiocommunication Conference  in the world, amending radio regulations and involving 193 ITU countries.


ZAGREB, November 5, 2019 – Following the invitation of the International Communication Unit (ITU) Sharm El Sheikh hosted the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC19) with the aimed at review amendments to the law and allow Radio Regulations (RR), an international agreement covering the management of radio frequency spectrum and content by geostationary and non-geostationary orbits. Every three to four years the WRC is organized within the scope of ITU Member States.
The Republic of Croatia was represented by the Members of the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure (MMPI) and the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries. At WRC, Croatia operates within the European Conferences of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), one of six regional organizations operating within the ITU. In the period of preparation for WRC19, HAKOM carried out two public debates on common European proposals, after which proposal to the MMPI was submitted and  eventually CEPT  was notified by the Republic of Croatia and supported by  the proposals. In taking its position, Croatia has also taken into account the binding Decision on Common Positions for the WRC, adopted by the Council of the EU and the European Parliament, in the opinion of the Working Party on Radio Spectrum Management Strategy.
 
WRC19 was open until November 22, 2019. Aftermath the individual Member States will have to apply their national regulations referring to the conference results.
