Three projects from the National Broadband Framework Programme completed
Zagreb, 15 December 2023: On 11 December 2023, Hrvatski Telekom d.d. (HT) marked the completion of three projects implemented in accordance with the structural rules of the Framework National Broadband Development Programme in areas where there is insufficient commercial interest in investment (ONP). The projects are based on the Broadband Development Plans (PRŠI) led by the City of Zaprešić, the City of Mursko Središće, and the Municipality of Đurmanec, covering 20 municipalities and cities in north-western Croatia. The construction of optical infrastructure in this area is financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion. HT, as a signatory of the co-financing agreement and the beneficiary of funds, implemented these projects in cooperation with the Ericsson Nikola Tesla Group and other partners.
PRŠI Zaprešić, PRŠI Đurmanec, and PRŠI Mursko Središće are the first three out of 13 projects implemented by HT within the framework of the ONP. With their completion, broadband access availability has been ensured for more than 30 thousand potential users in the area of the above-mentioned PRŠI. Representatives of PRŠI pointed out that they expect the realization of these projects to raise the quality of life for locals and contribute to the further development of the covered local self-government units. They believe that the importance of these projects is extremely great for their communities because today almost all aspects of business and everyday life are unimaginable without technology and the internet.
