WGSE Workgroup Meeting in Split

At the European level, the working Group is responsible for analysing the possibility of sharing the RF spectrum among different radio communications services. The aim of the meeting is to adopt the technical part of the report on the use of radio microphones in the 960-1164 MHz band.


Zagreb, 29 January 2020 – The  meeting of the Working Group spectrum Engineering will be held in Split this week from 27 to 31 January 2020.Folloowing the invitation of HAKOM, the meeting of the working group is held in Croatia and the participants. Mr. Miran Gosta, executive director at HAKOM welcomed the participants. At the beginning of the meeting Aurelian-Sorinel Calinciuc (Romania) was elected as new vice-chair of the Working Group.   HAKOM’s representative Krunoslav Bejuk held the post for the past six years.

Since the WGSE working group is in charge of analysing the possibility of sharing RF spectrum among various radio communication services and implementation at the European level, the meeting will discuss the possibility of dividing spectrum between mobile and non-mobile systems, short-range devices, satellite systems and RLAN (Radio local Area Network) as well as the unwanted emissions, in line with the obligations of project teams within WGSE. The aim of the meeting is to adopt the technical part of the report on the use of radio microphones in the 960-1164 MHz band used for aviation navigation, adopt a report analysing the possibilities of using RLAN s and open spaces in the 5945-6425 MHz band, to adopt a report on modern communication solutions for railways in the 900 and 1900 MHz bands (according to the mandate of the European Commission), etc.
