Notice to Users: Unauthorised Use of Signal Boosters in Mobile Communication Networks is Prohibited and May Cause Interference
How Do Signal Boosters Affect Mobile Communication Networks?
Under the Electronic Communications Act, all devices that use the radio frequency spectrum must be certified, professionally installed, and compliant with regulations. Otherwise, they pose a serious threat to network operation and usage. Unauthorised boosters can cause interference and overload the network, reducing service quality for all users. Disruptions to mobile communication networks can lead to dropped calls, weaker signal reception, and slower internet speeds for many users.
Improper and unprofessional installation of repeaters may result in penalties, confiscation of equipment, and even criminal sanctions against offenders.
How to Improve Signal Quality Legally?
If you are experiencing signal reception issues, we recommend contacting your operator. They can provide guidance on legally acceptable ways to improve signal quality or enhance network infrastructure in your area.
Increased Inspections and Measures
In the coming period, HAKOM will intensify monitoring of the radio frequency spectrum and conduct inspections to ensure the stability and quality of mobile communication networks. Users found to be using unauthorised repeaters will be identified and subject to legal sanctions.
