Public Consultation on the Strategy of Broadband Development in the Republic of Croatia in the period of 2016 - 2020

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure launched a consultation procedure with the interested public.

ZAGREB, July 8 2015 - HAKOM participated in the work of Drafting Committee for the Proposal of the Strategy of Broadband Development in the Republic of Croatia in the period of 2016 - 2020, for which the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure launched a consultation procedure with the interested public from July 3 to September 1, 2015.

The Government of the Republic of Croatia determines that the development of the Broadband Internet access infrastructure and services in the Republic of Croatia, with the speeds higher than 30 Mbit /s, is one of the key prerequisites for the development of a modern economy. In this Strategy, the main objectives pointed out by the Government of the Republic of Croatia until 2020 are following:

the coverage of the next generation access networks (NGA) enabling the access to the Internet at the speeds higher than 30 Mbit/s for all the inhabitants of the Republic of Croatia
the possibility that at least 50% of the households in Croatia are the users of Internet access service at a speed of 100 Mbit/s or more.
