Public Invitation for the Allocation of Number 116 111
ZAGREB, July 9, 2024 - The Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) has announced a public invitation for the allocation of number 116 111, intended for the children's helpline service (Child Helpline). Through the number 116 111, assistance is provided to children in need of care and protection, and they are connected with services and resources. This service offers children the opportunity to express their concerns, discuss issues directly affecting them, and contact someone in a crisis.
Specifically, this involves the allocation of a number that is part of the 116 numbering range designated for services of social significance, or services with special social sensitivity (Harmonised European Short Code). This numbering range is part of European regulation aimed at achieving the purpose of "same number - same service" across the European Union, meaning that socially significant services are accessible through the same, easily recognizable telephone numbers in all EU countries. In this context, five numbers in the format 116 XXX are reserved for specific services of social significance.
More information about the 116 numbers can be found at the following link.
