The 60th BEREC Plenary Meeting Held

At the third meeting under HAKOM's chairmanship, new leadership for the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications for 2025 was elected.

ZAGREB, 4 October 2024 - The 60th regular plenary meeting of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) took place in Budapest on 3-4 October, organised by the Hungarian regulator NMHH (National Media and Communications Authority). This was the third and penultimate meeting under the chairmanship of the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) as the BEREC Chair 2024.

This meeting provided an important opportunity to elect the new leadership of BEREC for 2025, as well as to adopt the proposed work programme for the coming year. HAKOM extends its sincere congratulations to the newly elected members of the BEREC Mini-Board for 2025, with whom it will collaborate in the role of BEREC Outgoing Chair. The new BEREC Mini-Board members, alongside HAKOM, are as follows:
  • Robert Mourik (ComReg, Ireland) - BEREC Chair 2025
  • Marko Mišmaš (AKOS, Slovenia) - BEREC Chair for 2026, Incoming Chair 2025
  • Alejandra de Iturriaga Gandini (CNMC, Spain) - BEREC Vice-Chair 2025
  • Daniela Brönstrup (BNetzA, Germany) - BEREC Vice-Chair 2025
  • Liliia Malon (NCEC, Ukraine) - Representative of BEREC's members without voting rights
The 2025 work programme sets out the strategic priorities and key projects that will shape BEREC's activities in the coming period. Full details of the proposal can be found on the BEREC website, and all interested parties are encouraged to take part in the public consultation, which remains open until 4 November 2024.

Furthermore, a public conference presenting the outcomes of the 60th plenary session will take place on 9 October 2024 in Brussels, with a live stream available on BEREC’s official website. This event offers a valuable opportunity for wider public and stakeholder participation within the sector.
